How can I tell if a knife is a Switch Blade or folding knife?
Here's a knife I'm looking at buying:

However, switch blades (where you press a button and the blade springs out) are illegal, so I'm hoping it is just a manual folding knife. How can I tell from the picture which type it is? Looks like there might be a button on it, but I'm not sure.
switch blades are either one: spring loaded and shoot strait up....or 2: spring loaded and shoot out from a fixed point..i.e. in a 180 degree Manner.. either way...its spring loaded
Knife like a Camillus Cuda MAXX 5.5?
I really like the Camillus CUDA MAXX 5.5 knife, but it is way to expensive for me, because the company is out of business. Are there any other knives around the $50 range that are a high quality steel, long folding blade? Thanks!
Look at the Remmington line. Nothing much is as good as a Camillus, I have one that my grandfather gave me 20 years ago.
It still holds an edge and is very functional.
I also have the DoD 'boot knife' from when I served.
Try e-bay or something like that.
