What is so great about the Ka-Bar Knives?
Can someone explain to me why many choose the Ka-Bar knives over many other knife types. Like I am interested in the fighting terms of the Ka-Bar, what made the blade, point/tip, clipped back edge, handle, or butt cap, etc, superior or better then other knives in its time or today? Just trying to understand a little more on the knife and why many like it or favor it so much.

Are throwing stars, knives, blades of any kind legal to *possess* in the state of Virginia as a collector?
or to use in personal sport/recreation?
The pasttime of target practce; archery, throwing blades/darts is not much different than horseshoes except how easy it is to use the actual items used in the sport as dangerous weapons.
True, horseshoes themselves are heavy enough to cause a concussion but you see my point.
Are they legal if not used in an offensive manner, as opposed to sport or in the unlikely event, defensive manner?
I see people walking around with these things clipped on or worn or whatnot and it makes me wonder what the actual legalities and legistations are.
The Code of Virginia, 18.2-311, makes the possession of "throwing stars" illegal. There is no exemption for collectors.
Knives and blades are defined differently. While the Code of Virginia makes mention of dirks, bowie knives, etc., the definitions are not listed. As has been explained to me, you may not conceal any knife with a blade over 3 inches or a knife that is double edged.
Also, pay attention to the laws of the local jurisdiction. IE: In Henrico County, it is illegal to wear or carry a sword out in public. (Not to discourage gang members or criminals, but to discourage Civil War Reenactors.)
